I chose newspaper to create Centruy Text because I think it carries information about time. All the contemporary politics, economy, military, culture, science and technology things in there. When today has become the past and these newspapers are already history books. This appeals to me. I think century text is a special book to record history, full of countless things that have happened, big or small, interesting or boring, of the world or about China. You clearly know that it contains many things, but you can't read them. The content is now only a bound presence. It makes you feel a paradox between words and non-words, reading and not reading.

The performance part is named Century Text - Dialogue. It is dialogue between present and past, moderrn and tradition, east and west. I want to give this work a new life, one that can live on into the future.
